Since we saw Kate McKinnon perform her stand-up on a lesbian cruise years ago it was clear she was destined to become the next big thing in comedy. But this weekend, McKinnon, who joined SNL late last season, really got to shine portraying Ellen DeGeneres and Jodie Foster as “Lesser Known Bond Girls” in one sketch and the Spanish woman who lovingly defaced a portrait of Jesus in another.

Since we saw Kate McKinnon perform her stand-up on a lesbian cruise years ago it became clear she was destined to become the next big thing in comedy. But this weekend, McKinnon, who joined Saturday Night Live late last season, really got to shine portraying Ellen DeGeneres and Jodie Foster as “Lesser Known Bond Girls” in one sketch and the Spanish woman who lovingly defaced a portrait of Jesus in another. With Daniel Craig as Saturday’s host the time was right to assemble the female players –and Fred Armisen—to portray Bond Girls that never were including Diane Keaton, Lea Michele, Ellen, Jodie and Fred as Penny Marshall.

McKinnon, who starred in The Big Gay Sketch Show, does a pair of killer impressions including a tight-lipped Jodie Foster and a spot-on Ellen DeGeneres.

A little while back a Spanish woman defaced Ecce Homo with the intention of improving the cracked and peeling fresco. With a few brush strokes the 81-year-old changed Jesus into a monkey. She later asked to be paid for her work. Here's McKinnon as Cecelia Gimenez on Weekend Update.
