Shot of the Day: Kerry Washington Wows in 'Django Unchained'

Lately Kerry Washington has been making a splash as Olivia Pope, the fierce fixer of all things down-and-dirty in Washington politics on ABC’s Scandal, but next up she’s got the female lead in bad boy director Quentin Tarantino’s re-imagining on the Spaghetti Western in Django Unchained. The first posters of Washington in western garb have dropped and we’re already thinking she’s worth the price of admission alone.

Washington, who recently spoke at the Democratic National Convention, plays the Broomhilda, “the long-suffering slave wife of Django (Jamie Foxx), who is freed by a bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz) and taught the tricks of that trade,” according to Deadline. Broomhilda’s travails drive the plot as Django seeks to reunite with her.

Django Unchained opens on Dec. 25. Merry Christmas Kerry Washington fans!
