There’s a new movie out based on the Joyce Carol Oates novel Foxfire about girls in upstate New York who form their own gang in the 1950s, and while it doesn’t star Angelina Jolie as the charismatic, tough-talking Legs like the 1996 version did, it looks as though it hues closely to Oates’ original vision.

Directed by Laurent Cantet and starring newcomer Raven Adamson as Legs and costarring Bomb Girls’ Ali Liebert.

The film premieres in France in January, according to AfterEllen
