The Hollywood Reporter recently caught up with Naya Rivera at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour, and during their chat, the actress opened up on what could be in store for her character Santana during the rest of season four.

“We're really close" to seeing Santana in New York – “If she went to New York, I feel like she'd have so many things to figure out -- where to live, first and foremost," she told THR. "I think anything could happen."

So, could she be the latest McKinley grad to defect to the Big Apple?  And if so, what would push her over the edge?

"There has to be some catalyst back at McKinley that really would have her realize there's nothing left there for her."

The next episode where Rivera takes center stage (“Diva”) is set to air on Feb. 7th, and it’s reported that she will sing three songs. "In that episode, everything gets wrapped up. One door is closing for her, and she opens another one. It's a good thing -- she's growing."

Sam (Chord Overstreet) and Brittany’s (Heather Morris) new relationship seems pretty set in stone for now, maybe NY is just the right place for a newly single lesbian to start over.

But, Rivera couldn’t resist teasing fans of Brittana, when she implied that the door may not be closed for good.  "There's always hope for Brittany and Santana, every single time you watch them, they have this longing. So, we'll see."

New episodes of Glee are setto return on Jan. 24th on Fox.
