We're still two months away from the season premiere of Ryan Murphy's torture-porn FX drama American Horror Story: Coven, but a new teaser already has us on the edge of our seats.

Ominously titled "Pins and Needles," the teaser shows us a woman, darkened by shadow, with pins running through her body. And the caption on the YouTube video is a spooky, if topical reference: "Because 'pinning' on the internet is all the rage…"

The new season will take place in present-day New Orleans, where the show contends the exiled witches from the Salem witch trials have sought refuge. While precise plot details are still sparse at this point, the confirmed cast includes out actor Sarah Paulson, Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Gabourey Sidibe, Taissa Farmiga, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy, Evan Peters, Alexandra Breckenridge, Angela Bassett, Denis O'Hare, and Patti LuPone.

Out showrunner Murphy has repeatedly proven that he's got a knack for getting under our skin with graphic, psychologically twisted storylines that make us wince, but also refuse to look away. Last season's AHS: Asylum kept us riveted to our TVs with the story of Lana Winters (Paulson), a lesbian reporter who's institutionalized and tortured as the staff at Briarcliff Manor try to "shock away the gay."

The new season of American Horror Story: Coven premieres on FX on October 9.

Watch the teaser below, where we promise you'll never find a  more eerie use of Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson's "Winter Song."
