The show Xena: Warrior Princess is certainly a cult favorite for queer women, so when rumors swirled that the show was getting a TV reboot, Xena's female fans were undoubtedly beside themselves. Unfortunately, the reboot isn't going to happen, but that doesn't mean we can't dream of who could have played Lucy Lawless' famous role. 

In honor of Lucy Lawless, the first Xena: Warrior Princess (the same actress who ends up with Ron Swanson on Parks and Rec), we decided to make a list about who we think could follow in Lawless' footsteps and kick some serious Xena: Warrior Princess ass.

Anyone who can play Cersei Lannister on Game of Thrones, and not die after 5 seasons, means that person can manage the fuck, out of being Xena: Warrior Princess.

11. Katherine Moennig

We want Katherine in a lead role again. And none of us will be mad if that’s as a warrior princess.

10. Rachel McAdams

Sure, Rachel is blonde and not the tallest woman out there, but we’re not going to let discrimination tamper our Xena suggestion list. Rachel would be wonderful.

9. Laura Prepon

So even though Laura Prepon probably has her hands tied enough with Orange is the New Black, I don’t think anyone would mind seeing Laura get in that Xena getup and kick some Ancient Greek ass.

8. Kristen Bell

She played Veronica Mars, a high school detective prodigy, and she’s married to a Punk’d OG, Dax Shepard. Kristen Bell can handle anything this reboot shoots at her.

7. Missy Peregrym

Two words: Stick It. If you haven't watched Stick It yet, you need to drop everything you're doing and go watch it right now.  Missy is strong AF, and we are pretty certain she’d be able to get all the Xena shit done. 

6. Lucy Liu

Remember Charlie’s Angels? Remember how boss Lucy Liy was in those? We Love Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore, and we totally want to endorse them becoming Xena too, but Lucy really deserves it.

5. Ruby Rose

Ruby's androgynous, gender fluid thing would mesh really nicely with the strong, protective character that is Xena.

4. Samira Wiley

We love her in OITNB, be we need more. Let’s make Xena happen for her.

3. Chiaki Kuriyama

If you’ve seen Kill Bill by now, which you should have because it came out in 2003, you’ll remember Chiaki as Gogo Yubari, the innocent looking school girl, who uses a ball chain to kill bitches. Don’t doubt that she’d nail bitches in Ancient Greece, too.

2. Milla Jovovich

Milla is our girl, and we know she could be one of the best Xenas ever.

1. Michelle Rodriguez

Michelle always plays badass bitches that aren’t afraid to do anything. Plus, she’s beautiful and sexual. What more are we asking for in a potential Xena actress? Nothing.
