15-Year-Old Lesbian Is Having Her Gay-ke and Eating It Too

A 15-year-old lesbian named Laurel — whose Tumblr name is Ellende-Generes — has discovered what might be the most delicious way possible to come out to one's parents… by baking them a cake! Or, as Laurel refers to it, a "gayke."

On January 27, Laurel posted this photo with the simple caption: "left this for my parents."

As you can see, the aptly named gayke does the hard work of saying the words Jodie Foster couldn't. But just in case her parents needed additional explanation, Laurel offered up a disarming, pun-filled letter to accompany the news. My favorite lines have got to be those pointing out that "it's hard not to love someone who baked you a cake," and her wish that her parents, "much like this cake, are not in tiers."

Later on Sunday, Laurel posted this picture of a half-eaten cake, along with this happy update:

"My mom saw [the cake] and cried of happiness. We giggled and cried together. Then, we all ate the cake and talked. I am very lucky to have such supporting parents and to have so much support from you guys. Thanks everyone! Have a gay day!"

If only all coming-out stories were this delicious and well-received.
