Gifted muralist Joe Caslin has done it again, creating another work in the days leading up to the historic referendum that will decide whether or not Ireland will be the world's first nation to enact marriage equality by popular vote, The Irish Times reports.

Caslin's stunning new mural, painted on the side of a soaring castle house in the west of Ireland with the owner's permission, features an “insanely rural” image of two beautiful female lovers in light, flowing, and lacy attire. Painted with potato-based pigment, it's biodegradable.

“We pushed this one right to the edge,” Caslin told the Times. “This is fourteen meters tall; and we’re a bit over capacity on the length of it.”

The feminine subject matter was meant as a contrast to a previous decidedly masculine and urban mural Caslin painted at a corner on South Great George's Street in Dublin in honor of the “diversity of relationships.”

“I didn’t want to have the piece of the two lads up and not follow it up with a female version,” he told the Times. “I wanted to show the broader aspects of relationships.”

Both murals celebrate the beauty of same-sex love and will hardly go unnoticed as the Friday same-sex marriage referendum quickly approaches.
