British musician Eliot Sumner, a child of Sting and Trudie Styler, has revealed that they have been dating a woman for two years and that they identify with no particular gender.

Sumner had no need to come out to friends and family, Sumner said. “They knew already,” Sumner told the paper. “So I didn’t need to. I’ve never come out to anyone. My friends always knew and I always knew.” Sumner is the third of Sting and Styler’s four children.

On gender identification, Sumner said, “I think forever I was trying to figure out maybe … what I am. But I don’t think anyone should feel pressured to have any kind of label or tag on them.”

Sumner's primary identification, they said, is as a musician. Sumner's second album, Information, will be released soon.
