The team over at NYC Pride created this beautiful end of year video, released today to commemorate the sixth month anniversary of the shooting at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida.

"We wanted to thank all of those that participated in NYC Pride 2016. While somber, this year reminded us why Pride is more important than ever," Chris Frederick, NYC Pride's Managing Director, told us.

The two-minute clip captures the incredible diversity at this year's annual gathering that brought out an estimated 2.5 million people.

"We're not just celebrating. We want to show the world that we live in the light. We don't hide in the shadows and we are proud of who we are, " 2016 Pride Parade Grand Marshall Cecilia Chung proclaims in the montage.

So, why the thank you?

"After the tragedy in Orlando, many questioned whether Pride 2016 was going to be safe," Frederick told us. "But folks overcame that fear and showed up. We’re thanking the 2.5 million people who said collectively, 'Our pride will not be silenced.'"

Watch the touching "thank you" below and tell us why you are proud this year in the comments:
