Olympic Badass Megan Rapinoe's Goofy Faces Are Everything
Out Olympian Megan Rapinoe isn’t just like us, but she does love making goofy faces just like us.
Megan Rapinoe is one of the dozens of out Olympians who will compete in the Olympic Games this summer in Rio. As a member of the National Women’s Soccer League, she helped the U.S. win gold at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and the 2012 London Olympics. The team also won silver at the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Despite being part of gold medal winning team, Rapinoe and her teammates are paid significantly less than the men’s national team. Rapinoe was one of five players to file a complaint against the US Soccer Federation saying, "Don't accept something you know in your heart and you know in your gut to be unequal." Additionally, Rapinoe has spoken out about LGBT equality at the Olympics, and wrote an op-ed encouraging athletes to come out at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi.
Megan Rapinoe is a total badass on and off the field, but she also has a goofier side. This Olympic gold medalist is definitely not just like us, but she does love a good goofy-face Instagram or Twitter post just as much as we do.
