Anthony Weiner's Aide Says This Intern Is a 'Slutbag'

In case New York mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner's recent revelations about his ongoing habit of sexting crotch-shots to strangers wasn't enough to make you think twice about voting for him, perhaps the profane, misogynist, slut-shaming rant one of his (female!) aides went on with Talking Points Memo will do it.

Olivia Nuzzi (pictured) briefly worked as an intern for the Weiner mayoral campaign, and earlier this week, penned a scathing indictment of the campaign in a story that covered the New York Daily News on Tuesday. In the article, Nuzzi says she and fellow interns joined the campaign primarily to get closer to Weiner's wife, Huma Abedin, a longtime aide to former secretary of state Hilary Clinton.

In the article, Nuzzi notes that Weiner's communications director last worked as the press secretary for the New Jersey state education commissioner, an apparent dig at the manager's qualifications to run a major political campaign.

And that's why, on Wednesday, that high-ranking aide shot back with some vile, profanity-laden, slut-shaming name-calling in an unrelated interview with Talking Points Memo

Barbara Morgan, Weiner's communications director, told Business Insider she thought her comments were off-the-record, but TPM's Hunter Walker contends that Morgan launched into the comments during an interview for a story about Weiner's fundraising numbers.

According to TPM's report, Morgan was livid about Nuzzi's tell-all post at the blog NSFWCORP, and the Daily News article.

“I’m dealing with like stupid fucking interns who make it on to the cover of the Daily News even though they signed [non-disclosure agreements] and/or they proceeded to trash me,” Morgan told TPM. "Fucking slutbag. Nice fucking glamour shot on the cover of the Daily News. Man, see if you ever get a job in this town again."

Apparently not done ranting and raving, Morgan continued to call Nuzzi a "bitch" who "sucked" at her job, later calling her a "twat."

“And then like she had the fucking balls to like trash me in the paper. And be like, ‘His communications director was last the press secretary of the Department of Education in New Jersey,” Morgan said. “You know what? Fuck you, you little cunt. I’m not joking, I am going to sue her."

By Wednesday afternoon, Morgan issued a statement confirming that she never meant for the comments to be public (gee, you think?!), and apologizing to Nuzzi.

"In a moment of frustration, I used inappropriate language in what I thought was an off the record conversation," Morgan told Business Insider. "It was wrong and I am very sorry, which is what I said tonight when I called and emailed Olivia to apologize."

Nuzzi accepted Morgan's apology in a post Thursday on Twitter, where Nuzzi's profile proudly reads "slutbag, twat, and cunt. Writer for NSFWCORP."

Still, we've got to wonder if the damage isn't already done to Weiner's campaign, which seems to step into a new pile of sex-related scandal almost daily now.
