Kate McKinnon Nominated for American Comedy Award

The Saturday Night Live funnywoman could be crowned Best Supporting Comedy Actress on TV.

It's no secret that we loveSaturday Night Live's Kate McKinnon, but it's always great to see others realize how fabulous the funnywoman is, too. That's why we're over the moon that McKinnon is up for an American Comedy Award.

Nominated as a supporting actress for her ongoing work on the NBC sketch comedy show, McKinnon is competing against fellow SNL cast member Vanessa Bayer, plus Chelsea Peretti for Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Julie Bowen for Modern Family and Aubrey Plaza for Parks and Recreation.

The American Comedy Awards, hosted by NBC, previously ran on ABC from 1987 to 2000, with an extra year on Comedy Central in 2001 before fading out. NBC made a deal to revive them last year as part of its programming plan to include more live broadcasts.

Previous winners in McKinnon's category include Megan Mullally for Will & Grace, Lisa Kudrow for Friends and Julia Louis-Dreyfus for Seinfeld.

Today's the last day of voting, so go vote! The American Comedy Awards will be broadcast on Thursday, May 15 at 9 p.m. ET. If you need a reminder of just how great she is, check out one of our favorite McKinnon moments - her impression of tennis legend Billie Jean King - below.
