Danielle Brooks makes her Broadway debut in the beautiful revival that opened last night.
Last night, The Color Purple opened on Broadway, and the cast ofOrange is the New Black couldn't have been more supportive as they showered star Danielle Brooks with love. Danielle, who plays fan favorite Taystee on OITNB, plays 'Sofia' in this revival, co-starring with West End star Cynthia Erivo as Celie and Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson as Shug Avery. All three women are making their Broadway debuts in this overwhelmingly emotional production that's receiving well-deserved rave reviews across the board. Uzo Aduba snapped this joyful picture of OITNB cast members Laverne Cox, Samira Wiley, Adrienne Moore, Selenis Leyva, and Lea Delaria celebrating Danielle's success.
