The actress who played the most well known hippie mom of the sitcom world, the beloved and iconic television actress Meredith Baxter, will sit down with veteran comedian Suzanne Westenhoefer for an exclusive Q&A session with a live audience of listeners and fans at The Dinah.
This intimate panel will consist of an interview conducted by Westenhoefer, followed by a Q&A session at which attendees will be able to hit the famed actress, producer and activist with all their burning questions. It will take place at the Riviera Resort & Spa in Palm Springs on March 30, 2012 at 8:00 pm.
“A conversation with Meredith Baxter is like therapy, comedy and fun Hollywood stories wrapped in a blond blue-eyed package,” says Suzanne Westenhoefer.
Baxter will also autograph copies of her bestselling autobiography Untied: A Memoir of Family, Fame and Floundering, and pose with fans for photo ops.
“Meredith Baxter has had one of the most extraordinary careers of any actresses in TV history,” says Mariah Hanson, founder and producer of Club Skirts Presents The Dinah. “Her personal bravery is an encouragement to all those who have yet to make the personal decision to live out loud. She's a wonderful person with great wit and reflection. This is a one of a kind event that will leave our audience smiling and inspired."
Emmy Award winning Baxter is most known for her role as Elyse Keaton on the hit 80s sitcom Family Ties. Her warmth, humor and contagious smile made her one of the most popular women on television with millions of viewers religiously following her on the small screen each week. The author of the bestselling memoir Untied, Baxter revealed how her success deceitfully masked a tumultuous personal story and a harrowing private life sharing her highs (working with Robert Redford, Doris Day and Michael J. Fox, as well as bravely coming out on The Today Show and in The Advocate), and her lows (a thorny relationship with her mother, a difficult marriage to David Birney and a bout with breast cancer), to finally reveal the real woman behind her iconic All-American mother image.
