An exciting pro-LGBTQ move for Marvel!

Marvel sent fans into a frenzy when it dropped the trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home earlier today, many of whom couldn't help but thirst over Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio.

In a history-making pro-LGBT move for the franchise, the upcoming summer blockbuster will feature two openly transgender actors, becoming the first Hollywood superhero movie to do so according to The Advocate.

Zach Barack will play one of Peter Parker's friends and Tyler Luke Cunnigham has a role as a featured extra. This is both actors' first role in a major film!

As of now, it's unclear if their gender will be a part of their characters' storylines, but their casting is an exciting first for Marvel who's been criticized in the past for the lack of LGBTQ characters in the cinematic universe, and more recently, explicitly showing LGBTQ characters' queerness on screen.

Spider-Man: Far From Home swings into theaters July 5, 2019. Watch the trailer below!
