Their rainbow flag isn't hurting you, gramps.

An 83-year-old with a homophobic heart is in hot water after leaving a threatening note on the door of a hair salon in Homewood, Alabama.

James Willougby Wood was arrested earlier this week after police determined a note left at Salon U in June demanded the business take down their rainbow flag.

“This is not San Francisco or downtown Birmingham,” the note read. “This is Homewood which is a religious and family city. We suggest that you remove that flag before it is too late. We are concerned citizens. Good Bye.”

It’s like that “before it’s too late” that left Wood charged with a misdemeanor for harassing communication after he was identified from the surveillance footage.

Prior to the identification, salon owner Issam Bajalia spoke with AL.com about his decision to involved the police.

“I am not an alarmist by nature,” he said. “In fact I don’t feel threatened at all, however when you have situations like the Pulse Nightclub shooting, you can’t be too careful in today’s day [and] time.”

To add insult to injury, the note was left while Salon U was closed so that the staff could attend NYC’s World Pride together.

Wood has yet to comment on the incident, but turned himself in after the warrant was issued for his arrest. His bond is set at $300.

“My thing is what is so offensive about a rainbow or a flag and how does this disrupt your religious journey?” Bajalia wondered.
