Sen. Ted Kennedy collapsed from a seizure and was hauled away by emergency medical personnel during President Obama's inaugural luncheon Tuesday.

The senior senator from Massachusetts suffered a lengthy seizure toward the end of the luncheon, a Republican House leadership member told Fox News.

He was removed via a reclining chair and had to have his legs lifted to remove him from the room.

Just last summer Kennedy was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Sen. John Kerry's wife Teresa Heinz Kerry assisted Kennedy into the chair to wheel him out, according to Fox.

Sen. Robert Byrd also left to seek medical attention although no details have been released.
