For the past six months, we at PRIDE have been waiting impatiently for Love, Simon, the gay, coming of age rom-com we so desperately need in our lives. We wrote about it when the film’s initial poster was revealed on Twitter, when the first trailer was released, and when they created a hilarious, nationwide billboard campaign appealing to all gay boys.
Now with just two weeks left until its release in the U.S., we have one more thing to share about Love, Simon: a clip, where Simon’s dad (played by Josh Duhamel), upon realizing his son is gay, offers to do something Grindr-related with his son.
But before we show you that, let me quickly explain what Love, Simon is all about in case you’re not in the loop:
Love, Simon is a film adaptation of the award-winning, 2016 novel by Becky Albertalli, Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda.
The rom-com follows a group of high school seniors struggling to find out who they are. (I may be 26, but literally, same.) After a closeted gay kid comes out on the high school's gossip blog, Simon anonymously reaches out and strikes up a whirlwind virtual romance. But when a classmate finds out about Simon’s sexuality, his whole world begins crumbling down before him.
OKAY! With that out of the way, watch this hilarious clip from Love, Simon, which hits theaters March 16!
