Born in 1962 in Nyack, New York, lesbian comedian Rosie O’Donnell became a household name in the 90s with her Emmy-Award-winning talk show, The Rosie O’Donnell Show, which ran until 2002. At this time, she also came out as lesbian, in part to help her advocate for adoption and fostering rights for LGBT people. Then followed her stint as a co-host of The View, where Rosie vocally condemned the war in Iraq, in addition to voicing some more controversial opinions about the Catholic church and 9/11. Today, her legacy is that of a long-standing philanthropist and LGBTQ advocate. She what she’s up to now!
