WATCH: The Chanticleer Web Series Gives Life to Lesbian Pulp

The Chanticleer is a hot new web series here to serve your time-traveling cravings for lesbian life in the '50s.

The Chanticleer is a new web series that plays tribute to the lesbian pulp novels of the ‘50s and ‘60s. Writer/director Becky Lane brings the series to life by capturing the ambiance of New York’s ‘50s bar scene and the smoldering women that could be found in them. Edie Chaucer (Annie Paul) returns back home to upstate New York after her father’s death to save his bar from its down spiraling reputation. Things begin to heat up for Edie when she hires a gender-bending bartender named Val (Rebecca Miller) who becomes a spectacle within the dynamic of the bar. The plot only continues to thicken with so many queer characters as Edie attempts to upkeep her late father’s bar and Val tries her best navigating her place in the world.
