An anti-gay protestor dampened the mood outside an Ariana Grande concert in Atlanta this weekend.

The man stood outside the venue carrying a huge sign with a rainbow flag and the word “PRIDE” crossed out in the center. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he also set up a speaker system and shouted anti-gay rhetoric into a microphone and argued with passersby that he was doing this because “God wants you to repent.”

Several fans wound up taking video of incidents surrounding the protestor and uploading them to Twitter.

The protestor also berated other religions, including Islam and Hinduism, telling people engaging with him that their god is Satan.

As horrifying as the experience was, it did end up bringing some of Ari’s fans together, as a large group gathered to cheekily sing the jerk off as he was finally escorted off the premises.

After the incident was brought to her attention, Ariana herself jumped on Twitter with a few words of support for her LGBTQ fanbase.

“he is highly outnumbered. you are all so celebrated and loved and safe,” she responded to the fan who posted the original video.

As unfortunate as it is that there are still so many every day scenarios where the LGBTQ community needs defending, we sure appreciate a queen that takes it upon herself to speak up!

She added: “also, he was doing the be alright choreo in his garage later that night, i promise.”
