Protestor Interrupts Drag Queen Story Hour, Taunts Children About Hell
So who's the problem, again?
Just as Drag Queen Story Hour continues to bring joy and new horizons into the lives of children, it also continues to attract haters who think they should have final say over what children are allowed to experience.
Only hours after the mayor of Ottawa came out as gay this weekend, a man burst into the city's Westcliffe Community Center where drag queen Adrianna Exposée was reading to young children.
A video of the altercation shows the man immediately launching into a rant about the Bible, prompting parents to pick up their young children and leave — whether to protect them from hate speech or because they were afraid the incident might escalate, it’s unclear.
“The Lord has sent me here today to tell you to turn from your wicked ways and repent,” he claims. “Child abusers will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. Homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. Lesbians will not inherit the kingdom of heaven.”
The man is Dorre Love, an anti-LGBTQ activist who has an entire YouTube channel dedicated to uploading videos of himself harassing gays, Muslims, atheists, and other unwilling participants "in the name of God." And yes, he brought a camera for this "mission," as well. (Don't worry, we're not linking his video.)
A few patrons try to confront Love, and eventually wrangle him towards the back of the room. One woman can be heard repeatedly telling the man “bye” and adding “thank you for ruining my daughter’s storybook time.”
The confrontation continues, with the intruder going off about male genitalia and demanding that Exposée teach the children about God and “repent.”
“You are going to be cast into a lake of fire, and everyone here is going to be cast into a lake of fire,” he says.
Exposée kept her cool through most of the interaction, but was clearly upset that this guy burst in to not just demean her, but everyone there, while also upsetting children.
“If you have a problem with me, you can take it up with me, but do not bring it on these people,” she told him.
Love eventually left after one final drawn out comment to the young children in question that they were going to wake up one day in hell if they didn’t turn to Jesus instead of “the LGBTQ.”
But it’s totally the drag queens we need to protect the children from.
