What Is Pride Like in Ferndale, Mich.?

Since 2011, Ferndale, Mich. (just outside Detroit) has kicked off summer with its annual Pride festival. AfterEllen called it a ”Small City Pride That is Worth the Trip.” The festivities draw more than 15,000 attendees for a full week of events leading up to Pride’s premier event, the day-long street fair. At one end of the fair, the main stage entertains crowds with internationally known artists, such as The Clicks, God-Dess & She, Tony Lucca, and Sick of Sarah. The dance stage keeps the crowd boogey-ing as Detroit’s best DJs spin into the evening. Over a hundred booths line the streets as sponsors and vendors create a festive mood for the participants.
