Ryan Murphy has struck again!
It's hard to believe that the TV icon has time to tackle so many exciting projects at once (such as American Horror Story season 13), but the Emmy winner is revisiting the '80s in his new FX series The Shards.
Starring a slew of gorgeous actors, the new TV show is based on the 2023 autofiction/horror novel of the same name by American author Bret Easton Ellis. The seductive, psychological teen horror-thriller follows a group of ultra-wealthy, privileged high school seniors in 1981 Los Angeles whose glamorous lives completely unravel under the dual threats of an enigmatic new student and a ruthless serial killer.
In typical Murphy fashion, the leading stars are very easy on my eyes and are showing plenty of skin. Even the first image promoting the new series featured the actors rocking swimwear in a pool.
The Shards officially premiered last night on FX and one video that's quickly making the rounds features newcomer Igby Rigney stripping down to a pair of white briefs. As a result, many people are now being exposed to Rigney for the first time.
The handsome actor is best known for his work in horror and drama projects, including prominent roles in Mike Flanagan’s Netflix series Midnight Mass, The Midnight Club, and The Fall of the House of Usher. In The Shards, Rigney stars as the lead character, Bret Easton Ellis, a fictionalized, 17-year-old version of the real-life author.
In upcoming episodes, the series will follow the aspiring young writer as he navigates teenage social politics and drug-fueled excess, which takes a dark turn when a serial killer known as "The Trawler" begins terrorizing the city.
