Cassandro is coming!
We finally have our first look at Gael García Bernal as Saúl Armendáriz in Cassandro. Based on a true story, this lead character was a famous gay amateur wrestler from El Paso who created the character of Cassandro.
This upcoming film will also feature Joaquín Cosío, Raúl Castillo, El Hijo del Santo, and Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio a.k.a. Bad Bunny. Cassandro is set for a limited theatrical release on September 15, and it’ll be available for streaming starting September 22 on Amazon Prime Video.
See below the first-look image of Bernal in the lead role of Cassandro.

Cassandro is being helmed by Academy Award-winning director Roger Ross Williams, best known for the 2010 short film Music by Prudence.
Since we’re in the middle of celebrating Pride Month, Williams shared a special message about the upcoming film, explaining what it means for LGBTQ+ people to fully embrace who they are.
We can’t wait to watch Cassandro once it comes out!
Cassandro premieres September 22 on Amazon Prime Video.
