Bravo and Peacock are finally giving the world a chance to see the hot, steamy moment between Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman of The Hunting Wives on stage at last month's Las Culturistas Awards in Los Angeles.
Videos of the dance number and their girl-on-girl kiss featuring the costars and a variety of same-sex couples simulating sex have been all over social media for days, but now fans can see it for themselves on the NBCUniversal-owned channel and streaming platform.
The event hosted by comedians Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers was held on Saturday, May 30, at the United Theater on Broadway in Los Angeles and debuted on Peacock on Wednesday.
The kiss sparked cheers from the audience, and reactions online have gone viral with hundreds of thousands of views just from two posts on X, screaming “MALIN AKERMAN AND BRITTANY SNOW JUST MADE OUT AND DANCED ON STAGE IN FRONT OF MY EYES" and all-caps declaring "WHO IS DOING IT LIKE THE HUNTING WIVES?”
The Hunting Wives debuted on Netflix last year and is based on May Cobb’s best-selling novel of the same name. The series is set in a wealthy East Texas community. Snow plays newcomer Sophie O’Neil, who gets drawn into a web of sapphic sex and lies by socialite Margo Banks, played by Akerman.
Despite their on-screen and now on-stage sapphic chemistry, it should be noted Akerman is married to British actor Jack Donnelly.
The first season not only treated viewers to smoking hot lesbian sex scenes, but also ended on a cliffhanger and a surprising death. According to one of the actresses, season 2 is even steamier.
“Wild. Every script is a new adventure," Snow told Entertainment Tonight in January, as Out reported. "They said that we couldn’t top last year, and somehow I think we are doing it."
She added that she expects fans to be angry, and more
“I’m surprised. And I even knew what was coming a little bit. So I think people are going to be very shocked; I think people are going to be angry. I think people are going to be surprised and excited,” she said.
Production of the eight-episode season two wrapped in March. It will feature WNBA star Angel Reese. She'll play a character known as “Trainer Barbie,” Variety reported.
Reese’s character’s name plays on her real-life nicknames “Bayou Barbie” and “Chi Barbie.” The two-time WNBA All-Star will be featured in a “co-starring role” in the Netflix show. Will Reese's character be a girl-kisser, too? No word yet, but we can hope.
The second season of the breakout hit will feature main characters Sophie (Snow) and Margo (Akerman) on the outs with each other. “But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together,” the synopsis reads. “As they play their dangerous games, the question arises. Are they the hunters or the hunted?”
John Stamos (Full House), Cam Gigandet (Burlesque), Dale Dickey (Winter’s Bone), Kim Matula (Saturday Night), and Alex Fitzalan (The Wilds) will also join the cast for the second season.
