Jerrod Carmichael puts his love on top!

This has been a landmark year for Carmichael following the release of his comedy special Rothaniel – where he came out as a gay man. The critically-acclaimed special subsequently won the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special, which turned Carmichael into one of the biggest comedy stars of the moment.

Besides reaching new heights in his career, Carmichael has also made headlines for commenting on his sexuality and talking about his preferred types of men. Though he loves to crack jokes about his dating life as a gay guy, he has also opened up about how things are really going.

During his 2022 Out100 cover story for Out Magazine, Carmichael went on to reveal his sexual preference in the bedroom. According to the comedian, he’s “a lifelong top.” However, he also noted that he’s “open to change.”

LGBTQ+ celebrities aren’t always open about their preferred roles, but Carmichael wasn’t shy about identifying as a top and qualifying that it’s always been his preference. He also left the door open to exploring different things in the future… possibly!

As of late, Carmichael has garnered a lot of attention for producing and starring in On the Count of Three. He is also an executive producer on Hulu’s critically-acclaimed series Ramy. Looking ahead, Carmichael is slated to play the character of Harry Astley in the upcoming film Poor Things directed by Yorgos Lanthimos.

Jerrod Carmichael is unstoppable – and all we can do is stan!

On the Count of Three is streaming on Hulu.
