The Umbrella Academy tragically only has one season remaining before the Netflix adaptation shuts the door on the dysfunctional Hargreeves family, but a piece of exciting news dropped this week as we wait on those final episodes.

Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally have been tapped to join the fourth season of the LGBTQ-inclusive series, playing “a mild-mannered married couple named Jean and Gene, who are college professors.” The rumors of their involvement had been circulating for several weeks, but Mullally confirmed the news to ET on Wednesday, while admitting the “deal’s not quite closed” but they are scheduled to begin filming soon.

When it comes to The Umbrella Academy, people are rarely what they initially seem to be, and with Offerman and Mullally on board, there’s bound to be some fun stuff going on with these two.

Whats-On-Netflix.com, which had previously shared the rumors of the real life couple’s casting, also claimed at the time that Jean is an “unhinged conspiracy theorist” while Gene is “an eccentric small-town mayor” who isn’t afraid to stoke an insurrection to attempt to fix a “broken world.”

Whether there’s truth to those additional rumors, we’ll have to wait and see.

Filming for the final season began earlier this month, so even though no premiere date has been set yet, it seems unlikely we’ll have new episodes to watch until sometime next year.
