Warrior Nun Showrunner Shares Deleted Scene That Has Queer Fans Screaming

Fans have continued to push for a season three after Netflix canceled the series.
Warrior Nun fans may have been in mourning ever since the show’s cancelation, but a bit of insight into a scene that was never shot is providing some respite.
Over the course of season two, Ava (Alba Baptista) and Beatrice (Kristina Tonteri-Young) continued their slow burn romance, with their feelings for one another finally being confirmed in canon in what turned out to be the series finale.
Showrunner Simon Barry recently shared script pages from the season two premiere that ultimately were never filmed, but that have left fans reading between the lines and calling out the gay longing that they came to adore
In the scene, Beatrice is waiting in Ava’s bed as the latter “sleeps in a tangle of bedsheets, limbs akimbo.”
“Ok folks, here’s the infamous scene 18 that we never shot. Comes before the running over water scene. #WarriorNun10M #SaveWarriorNun”— Simon Barry (@Simon Barry) 1676847615
Fans had no shortage of opinions about the scene, which only would have added to the tension between the two that permeated the entire season.
“@SimonDavisBarry ‘Takes a moment’ ….. to yearn??”— Simon Barry (@Simon Barry) 1676847615
“I just realized that if that scene had been filmed, we would have got a gay yearning look from Ava (the dance scene) *and* a gay yearning look from Bea (the missing bedroom scene) in s2e1 and gosh, that episode was so gay already and it could have been gayer??? #SaveWarriorNun”— Camille | #SaveWarriorNun (@Camille | #SaveWarriorNun) 1676925773
“@starboyhoursfm @Tiffany7117 @SimonDavisBarry WHAT IF SHE WAS SO STRESSED THAT SHE BARELY SLEPT BECAUSE SHE WAS AFRAID SHE WAS GOING TO ACCIDENTALY CUDDLE WITH AVA IN HER SLEEP !?!? #SaveWarriorNun #WarriorNun”— Simon Barry (@Simon Barry) 1676847615
“the homoerotic tension in this scene might be unmatched acc…. we could’ve had bea staring at a sleeping ava #savewarriornun”— kayy || FIGHTING MY DEMONS (@kayy || FIGHTING MY DEMONS) 1676857949
The same fans are still pushing for a miraculous season three save from another streamer, repeatedly getting #SaveWarriorNun to trend, circulating a petition, and even putting up billboards as part of their campaign.
“If you're in the Phoenix, AZ area, #SaveWarriorNun is at a bus stop near you! Figured the desert needed a visit from the #HaloBearers. This location will have an estimated 50k impressions per week and will be up for 2 months. Woohoo.

#WarriorNun”— Elsie || #TeamTraumatized (@Elsie || #TeamTraumatized) 1676949643
Similar fan attempts have been met with mixed results in the past, but Warrior Nun devotees remain committed to their cause — and getting this little deleted scene as a treat will certainly only fuel the fire.
