Proving childhood dreams do come true, Gaston's gay! Kinda.
Questionably out actor Luke Evans — best known for his role as Zeus in Immortals — has been cast as the villainous Gaston in the live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast.
Emma Stone and Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens will play the titular couple, with Bill Condon (Dreamgirls) handling directorial duties. Though he came out in a 2002 Advocate article, Evans has been noticeably less loud and proud about his sexuality as he climbs the Hollywood ladder. But, that won't stop us from fangirling.
"It’s good for people to look at me and think this guy is doing his thing and enjoying what he’s doing and successful at it and living his life."
Having a gay actor play a stereotypically masculine character like Gaston would be pretty legit. But, could anyone fill Gaston's absurdly tight shirts?
