King Cobra and this former Disney star are a long way from Teen Beach Movie.
It feels like we’ve been hearing about King Cobra, the James Franco film about the young gay porn star Brent Corrigan (who now goes by his real name Sean Paul Lockhart), for years now, and the trailer has finally dropped. Franco and director Justin Kelly (I Am Michael) produced what is ultimately a thriller that showcases Corrigan’s rise (no pun intended) in the adult film world at the hands of his possessive producer Bryan Kocis, that is until rival porn producers plot to lure Corrigan from Kocis. Murder ensues...
Disney star Garrett Clayton (Teen Beach Movie, The Fosters, and the upcoming Hairspray Live!) plays the pawn Corrigan while Christian Slater steps in as his producers and Franco and Pretty Little Liars’ Keegan Allen star as the smarmy rival porn kings. Alicia Silverstone (Clueless) and Molly Ringwald (Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club, Secret Life of the American Teen) costar.
King Cobra premiered at the Tribeca film festival and screened at Los Angeles’s LGBT film festival Outfest this summer.
We can't tell from this trailer if King Cobra is any good or not, but it’s sure a long way from Teen Beach Movie for Clayton.
