Pixar's Bao won the trophy for Best Animated Short Film at last night's 91st annual Academy Awards! The heartfelt and emotional story of a Chinese woman who misses her child was the directorial debut of Chinese-Canadian animator Domee Shi, who made history not only as Pixar's first female short film director, but as the animation studio's first female Oscar winner.

While Bao's win was groundbreaking, it was only one of five other amazing animated shorts to be nominated!
