Absurd Anti-Pete Buttigieg Protest Features Him as Tormentor of Jesus

The theatrics though.

Presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg has already faced vocal pushback from some sectors of the Christian community for being a gay politician daring to run for office, but some folks in Marshalltown, Iowa took it to the next level.

While a crowd of around a hundred gathered to hear Mayor Pete speak in the small town, some protestors nearby arrived in costume — one dressed as Buttigieg, one as Jesus, and one as the devil.

The actual protest? The devil egging “Mayor Pete” on as he whipped a cross-carrying Jesus.

“Yes, more blood, Peter! Every vote is a lash on the back of Christ!” cries Satan.

“Aren’t you a Christian?” Satan asks in another video.

“I’m a Christian. Priests love me!” the fake Buttigieg responds, continuing to wield the whip.

Buttigieg has encountered anti-LGBT protestors at almost every Iowa stop he’s campaigned in this week. But the candidate seems well-prepared for the hate.

While he just ignored the insane Jesus/fake Pete/Satan threesome in Marshalltown, he previously responded to a Des Moines protestor yelling about Sodom and Gommorah that “the good news is the condition of my soul is in the hands of God, but the Iowa causes are up to you.”
