Do you mean Make America Gay Again?

As much as the world is changing to become more accepting of the LGBTQ community, there’s still too much blatantly bigotry, even among younger generations.

Students at a high school in Bakersfield, California held their very first GSA (Gay Straight Alliance) meeting last week. What should have been an empowering and uplifting community gathering reportedly turned confrontational when kids from another club crashed the meeting.

“They were met [with] the [Future Farmers of America] kids with MAGA flags and straight kids holding hands yelling ‘this is what’s right,’” a parent of one of the students wrote on Facebook.

“My son says lately the tension at that school [has increased] between FFA and any kids they’ve determined as ‘liberal.’ The gay community there is apparently the one they’ve decided to mess with.”

A student named Matthew said he and several other students have already been suspended for “harassment, intimidation, and sexual harassment.”

In an interview with the local news, he claims that he just went to the meeting out of curiosity, and also complained that you can’t even have an opinion without being “hated on for it.” The opinion, in this case, essentially being that being LGBTQ is wrong.

Though Matthew is publicly stating he and his friends didn’t attend the meeting to start any fights, users on Twitter claiming to have been in attendance reported that the FFA students were calling GSA kids “faggots” and laughing throughout the meeting.

Video of part of the interaction between the students outside the school after the meeting also shows a truck driving by waving a huge “Trump 2020” banner.

The Kern County School District has issued a statement saying they are investigating the incident.
