OUTtakes is an ongoing travel series where our editors explore their favorite cities, offering a behind-the-scene perspective. Out magazine editor Jesse Steinbach embarked on a three-day tour of the Key West alongside photographer Ricardo Nelson.

Key West is that stunning island paradise that has been historically welcoming to every kind of person; it's a go-to destination place for members of the LGBT community as well as straight couples, families, and newlyweds. Working at Out, I heard so much about Key West and was eager to finally explore the city for myself.
