Welcome to Steven Universe Future!

Cartoon Network premiered the new name for our beloved animated series at a New York Comic-Con panel earlier today, as well as a brand new opening sequence with a new theme song!

According to creator Rebecca Sugar, Season 6 is a limited series epilogue of sorts for the original series. This announcement comes just under a month since the movie premiered on Cartoon Network, which shows Steven, Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, Peridot, Lapis, Greg, Connie, and Bismuth two years after the game-changing Season 5 finale. It seems like this Crystal Gems arc in Season 6 will pick up where the movie left off.

Here's the official description for Steven Universe Future:

After saving the universe, Steven is still at it, tying up every loose end. But as he runs out of other people’s problems to solve, he’ll finally have to face his own.

The theme song also shows some ominous looking potential villains and Steven DRIVING a CAR! *wipes tear* Our baby is all grown up.

No announcement date for the Steven Universe Future premiere just yet, but we'll be sure to keep you posted!
