Queer Couples are Sweeping E! News' #TVsTopCouple Fan Contest

Every TV show that made the semi-finals has been nominated for a GLAAD Award.

If you've ever doubted that TV fans are passionate about queer representation, just take a look at E! Online's "TV's Top Couple" contest, where the same-sex couples are blowing everyone else out of the water.

Fandoms from across the television landscape have been battling it out and forming alliances over the past few weeks, voting as often as they can to advance their favorite on-screen romances in the contest.

By the time we got to the semi-finals this past week, queer couples were the only ones left: Aristoteles and Temo from Univision telenovela Mi Marido Tiene Mas Familia, Magnus and Alec from Shadowhunters, David and Patrick from Schitt's Creek, and Waverly and Nicole from Wynonna Earp.

Not even well-established straight couples like Outlander's Claire and Jamie or Grey's Anatomy's Meredith and DeLuca could crack the top four.

And just to make things extra gay, all of the semi-finalists were nominated for a GLAAD Award this year!

Other queer couples in the contest included Emily and Alison from PLL: The Perfectionists, Juliana and Valentina from Amar a Muerte, Penelope and Josie from Legacies, and Ian and Mickey from Shameless. Just a good showing all around.

Last night's vote got "TV's Top Couple" down to the final two shows: Mi Marido Tiene Mas Familia and Schitt's Creek. We won't know who comes out on top for a while longer — telenovela fans are basically a force of nature, but don't underestimate the scrappy Schitt's Creek fandom — but as far as our favorite queer 'ships go, it feels like we've already won.
