"You can’t unsee it," Jensen Ackles said of the Herogasm adaptation.

There’s a lot to be excited about in the upcoming season of The Boys, but fans in the know are probably most fascinated by the adaptation of the graphic novel’s Herogasm storyline. Fascinated, and afraid — and with good reason, according to the cast.

The anti-superhero show has veered into the unexpectedly outrageous a number of times already during its first two seasons. And while that has stayed true to the comic books, seeing it on screen has been a whole different experience.

And that has in turn led fans to wonder what would happen should the show ever decide to adapt the six-issue Herogasm storyline, which follows the titular Boys as they sneak into an annual superhero retreat that ultimately turns out to just be an excuse for drug and sex-fueled debauchery among all of Vought’s heroes.

That time has finally come. Season three will see Herogasm brought to the small screen in all its messy glory.

The cast chatted about the moment in a recent video for Vanity Fair breaking down the recently premiered season three trailer.

“I’m scared for them to see some of the stuff. I haven’t seen a lot of the stuff that I’m excited to see how it turns out,” said Chace Crawford, who plays The Deep. “I mean, we did Herogasm.”

“I know I was just kind of very curious as to how that was going to work,” Jensen Ackles, who will be introduced as Soldier Boy in the new season, added. “And even the director was like, ‘I don’t know what I’m shooting anymore.’ Our crew looked traumatized. So I warn you — you can’t unsee it. The toothpaste will not go back in the tube.”

What exactly the Amazon show’s version of Herogasm will include is still a mystery. But knowing The Boys, Jensen’s warning should not be taken lightly.

In other words: we’re so ready.

Season 3 of The Boys will premiere on Amazon Prime on June 3rd.
