21 Queer TV Shows and Movies Coming In August 2022
It’s hot outside and one of the best ways to beat the heat is by slipping into a movie theater or cozying up by the air conditioner and catching up on all your returning and new queer characters on TV and in the movies. And when it comes to LGBTQ+ representation on the small and big screen, August is bringing the heat.
Here are all the queer and queer-inclusive television series and movies you won’t want to miss in August.

'Reservation Dogs' (Season 2) - August 3
Season two picks up after the disbanding of the gang at the end of season one. Elora ghosted Bear and took off for California with the Rez Dogs’ mortal enemy, “Jackie” (Elva Guerra), the leader of a rival gang. Abandoned by his closest friend, Bear seeks a male parental figure to teach him how to “be a man” – but his choice of uncles to emulate leaves a lot to be desired. Meanwhile, Willie Jack thinks everything in their town is falling apart because of the curse she cast on Jackie and she’s determined to put that genie back in the bottle. Cheese who, like Willie Jack, decided that Cali wasn’t for him, reunites with his grandmother who isn’t his grandmother.
Reservation Dogs premieres on Hulu on August 3.
'Bodies Bodies Bodies' - August 5
When a group of rich 20-somethings plan a hurricane party at a remote family mansion, a party game turns deadly in this fresh and funny look at backstabbing, fake friends, and one party gone very, very wrong.

'The Outlaws' (Season 2) - August 5
The Outlaws is a comedy thriller about a disparate group of lawbreakers thrown together to complete a community service sentence. Seven strangers from different walks of life are forced to work together to renovate a derelict community center. When one of their number gets dragged into a dangerous world of organized crime, they unite in ways none of them thought possible. Picking up a few months after the climax of Season One, in Season Two, the Outlaws still have time to serve on their sentences, but quickly realize the criminal underworld isn’t done with them yet—not by a long shot.

'The Sandman' - August 5

'They/Them' - August 5
A group of teenagers at an LGBTQ+ conversion camp endures unsettling psychological techniques while being stalked by a mysterious masked killer.
They/Them premieres on Peacock on August 5.
'Password' - August 9
Jimmy Fallon and other celebrities pair with contestants to face off in the ultimate game of words. Hosted by Keke Palmer.
Password premieres on NBC August 9.
'A League Of Their Own' - August 12
In 1943, Carson Shaw travels to Chicago to try out for the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. There, she meets other women who also dream of playing pro baseball and makes connections that open up her world. Rockford local Max Chapman also comes to the tryouts but is turned away. With the support of her best friend Clance, she must forge a new path to pursue her dream.
A League Of Their Own premieres on Prime Video on August 12.
'Emily The Criminal' - August 12
Down on her luck and saddled with debt, Emily gets involved in a credit card scam that pulls her into the criminal underworld of Los Angeles, ultimately leading to deadly consequences.

'Girl Picture' - August 12
Mimmi, Emma and Rönkkö are girls at the cusp of womanhood, trying to draw their own contours. In three consecutive Fridays, two of them experience the earth moving effects of falling in love, while the third goes on a quest to find something she’s never experienced before: pleasure.

'Never Have I Ever' (Season 3) - August 12
In Season 3 of the coming-of-age comedy Never Have I Ever, Indian American teenager Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) continues to deal with the everyday pressures of high school and drama at home, while also navigating new romantic relationships.

'RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race' (Season 2) — August 12
Celebrities use the magic of drag to debut legendary new personas for RuPaul and a panel of judges as they lip sync their hearts out for the title of America’s Next Celebrity Drag Superstar.

'Leonardo' - August 16
The series recounts Leonardo da Vinci’s extraordinary life through the works that made him famous, through the stories hidden within those works, revealing little by little the inner torment of a man obsessed with attaining perfection.

'Drag Race Philippines' - August 17
The inaugural season of Drag Race Philippines will premiere exclusively on WOW Presents Plus in the US, with sickening new episodes dropping every following Wednesday. Featuring the fiercest, most fabulous Filipino drag artists from all over the world, Drag Race Philippines will be broadcast primarily in English with some portions in Tagalog. Paolo Ballesteros, the multi-awarded Filipino actor, model, and drag artist, will host the ten-part series with the iconic Drag Race alum Jiggly Caliente and popular Filipina writer, TV personality, and activist KaladKaren serving as judges.

'She-Hulk: Attorney At Law' - August 17
Jennifer Walters navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered Hulk.

'In The Vault' (Season 2) - August 18
Things at Woodlawn College get stranger and stranger with the discovery of student Liv Steele’s killer. Will this secret be kept as residents of the Vault head into their sophomore year? And what does that bloody secret have to do with the kidnapped hooded figure languishing in the basement? Season 2 of Crackle’s sexy suspense series In The Vault brings new mysteries, new twists, and new thrills to Woodlawn College with Audrey Whitby and Timothy Granaderos.

'House Of The Dragon' - August 21

'Kevin Can F**K Himself' (Season 2) - August 22
In the second and final season, Allison and Patty scramble to deal with Neil, pushing Allison to find a better way out. Altering the original escape plan, Patty once again agrees to help Allison, but this time, on her own terms.

'Queer Eye: Brazil' - August 24
In Queer Eye: Brazil, Fred Nicácio (well-being), Guto Requena (design), Rica Benozzati (style), Luca Scarpelli (culture) and Yohan Nicolas (beauty) will forever transform aspects of the lives of some men in the Brazilian version of the original American show that won seven Primetime Emmy Awards.
Queer Eye: Brazil premieres on Netflix on August 24.
