After the post was shared, a Reddit thread in the r/popculturechat subreddit (which has over six million followers) accused the celebrity hairstylist of using fake bots to boost engagement on his social posts.

Reddit users in this thread — with 3,000 upvotes as of this writing — accused Appleton of having a comments section with various responses allegedly generated by "bots." To be clear: There is no way for anyone to verify those accusations, as these could have been genuine comments from fans of the celebrity hairstylist, and/or spam accounts. The latter is very common across social networks.
