James Charles Expertly Trolls YouTubers Who Were Rude to a Fan

James Charles has certainly done some questionable things in his short time as a famous YouTube makeup guru, but one thing he did expertly was troll another set of social media stars who had it coming.

Charles posted a video last night after a meet and greet that shows what appears to be a fan coming up to him and several other beauty/fashion influencers as they sit stoically and pose for a photo with her without speaking. The girl quietly apologizes before walking awkwardly off-screen. And that’s when everyone involved cracks up.

At face value, this looks absolutely horrible. Even if you just assume Charles & co were playing a joke on this girl, it seems shitty. But neither of those things are what happened.

Earlier this month, a video of the Dobre Brothers, ex-Vine stars who are famous for...honestly who even knows, went viral for the worst reasons. It showed them treating a fan the exact same way Charles did, except that it was the real thing.

The group apologized, blaming their failure to act like humans during a meet and greet people paid actual money for on being tired. But the internet was relentless in roasting them all the same, pointing out all the times other celebrities were worse off than just tired and still showed their fans respect.

And still others, like Charles, skewered them by reenacting the disgraceful video themselves, though Charles’ video is the first the Dobre Brothers have responded to.

Getting called out for being rude to your fans stings, but getting trolled about it by someone else with a big following makes it way more likely to endure on the internet forever. Next time…just drink some coffee before the m&g, guys.
