"I have a definite feminine side," said the singer-songwriter.
Move over Macklemore, singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran also once thought he was gay because he could draw and he kept his room straight because he was in touch with his "feminine" side.
In a new interview with the Man Man Man podcast, Ed Sheeran has shared that when he was younger, he questioned his sexuality because he listened to the musical stylings of Britney Spears.
"I have a definite feminine side to the point where, when I was a kid, I thought I was gay for a bit," said the "Shivers" singer. "I definitely had a big feminine side. I love musical theatre, I love pop music, I love Britney Spears. My masculine side probably stops at drinking beer and watching football. I am not a hugely masculine person anyway. I am not a car guy. I like a nice car, but I’m not a car guy."
While the things Sheeran has deemed as masculine and feminine are clearly based on dated stereotypes, he says much of this thinking changed when he met his wife, who "works a very high-level job where she’s the top of her field."
"As soon as we started dating my life kind of shifted to that,” said Sheeran. “She plays in a female hockey team, we hang out with them all the time. It’s very much like women empowerment."
