Lil Nas X says he has COVID, but that isn’t stopping him from keeping things light on Twitter.

The singer pulled out of the Jingle Bell Ball earlier this month with a note that members of his team had tested positive for the virus, but on Friday, he admitted to fans that he had received a positive diagnosis himself.

Responding to news that “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” made Barack Obama’s list of favorite music this year, Lil Nas tweeted, “started running around the house when i saw this then i remembered i have covid lol.”

He also suggested he’s getting better, saying “now that i’m sure i won’t die from covid i will now begin making mildly funny jokes about it.”

Both tweets have since been deleted, as have the tweets that followed, including one in which he joked that he’s “not sure whether i’ve had the omarion or alicia keys variant of covid but this has not been a fun journey.”

And in typical Lil Nas fashion, one of his COVID-related tweets crossed that NSFW line and got a little extra personal.

“Covid really sucks,” he wrote. “last night i was tryna watch porn then i sneezed snot all over my penis lmao.”

There are definitely worse outcomes to COVID than that, although it doesn’t sound like a particularly enjoyable experience.

It’s unclear what prompted Lil Nas to delete his chaotic tweets, but fans have been tweeting under the tag #getwellmontero to wish him the best of luck in getting over whichever version of COVID he has — Omarion, Alicia Keys, or one that actually exists.
