Miguel Bernardeau is back on our screens!
The handsome actor shot to superstardom as the lovable villain Guzmán Nunier Osuna in the first four seasons of Élite on Netflix. Since then, the star has tackled two pivotal queer roles. His first was Ángel, a wealthy and charismatic Spanish passenger, in another Netflix series titled 1899.
Now, Bernardeau is stepping into his second queer role in the groundbreaking new film La Bola Negra. The movie is already receiving massive Oscar buzz and is currently a major frontrunner for the 99th Academy Awards. Industry insiders and major publications like Variety and Vanity Fair are predicting the film will receive a Best Picture nomination and could even secure Netflix's first-ever Best Picture victory.
Leading up to the Oscar buzz, directors Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi ("Los Javis") won the Best Director Award at the Cannes Film Festival and are highly predictive to win the People's Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), which is an accolade that has historically tied directly to future Best Picture winners.
La Bola Negra is a sprawling, multi-generational gay war epic and historical drama that weaves together three separate timelines spanning nearly a century of Spanish history. Throughout the movie, all three stories converge around the generational trauma of lives that history has tried to intentionally wipe away.
Leading up to the film's release in theaters on October 16 and streaming on Netflix December 2, the stars are starting to pose in some viral photos that include plenty of sexy poses. Bernardeau's latest alluring shot for Variety is quickly making the rounds on social media. Check out the highlights below!
