Best known for Ex Machina, the Disney trilogy of Star Wars, Marvel’s Moon Knight, and Dune, Oscar Isaac happens to be a massive fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race. The actor’s stanhood of the drag competition series is well-documented, as he has brought it up several times in the past.
During a recent Q&A panel at the New York Comic Con, a fan cosplaying as Maleficent asked Isaac a few direct questions about his overall relationship to drag and his love of Drag Race. “Would you ever grace the stage of Drag Race as a judge or maybe a contestant?” the fan asked.
Isaac didn’t hesitate to answer this exciting question. “Yes and yes,” the actor replied. “World of Wonder? RuPaul? Are you listening?” Isaac then revealed his personal history with the art form of drag. He explained, “I was doing drag at a very early age and my sister named me Raisin. So I feel like I have to stick with Raisin.”
As seen in the tweet above, Isaac was spotted earlier this year at a gay bar in Brooklyn watching the grand finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 14. Like most viewers, it seems like he was rooting for Willow Pill to win – and she was, indeed, crowned America’s Next Drag Superstar at the end of the season.
Isaac is working on a few different projects right now. For one, he is voicing the character of Miguel O’Hara for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and will be featured in Metal Gear Solid. The actor is also slated to appear in the Ben Stiller-directed movie London and will play none other than Francis Ford Coppola in the film Francis and the Godfather.
Though we can’t wait to watch Isaac on all these different projects, we’re not going to lie: now we really need to see him in a future season of Drag Race!
