And the actress knows exactly what her bio would say, too.

Emma Thompson recently shared a bold opinion regarding one of her infamous character’s dating life, and we’re all about it.

The actress was speaking with reporter Liv Marks about her upcoming movie, What’s Love Got to Do with It?, when Marks threw out this excellent question: “Who, out of the iconic characters you’ve played, would you love to see on a dating app, and what would their bio say?”

With a truly storied career, Thompson had any number of options to pull from, but she knew exactly where to go with this.

“Obviously Trunchbull,” she said. “She’s got to be…she’d be on Grindr.”

Thompson played Agatha Trunchbull in Netflix’s recent adaptation of Matilda the Musical. For those who didn’t grow up reading the Roald Dahl book or watching the 1996 adaptation, Trunchbull is the tyrannical headmaster of the titular character’s school. She often wielded a crop and doled out harsh punishments to children.

“And I suppose her thing would just say, ‘I mean it. Don’t try anything,’” Thompson added.

The interviewer (rightly) suggested that Trunchbull on Grindr is worthy of its own spinoff film — though it’s difficult to imagine actually rooting for her to find love. Still, the mishaps would absolutely be worth it.
