Production has come to a close on the final season of Young Royals, and its handsome stars shared a message with fans to celebrate the end of the journey.

Omar Rudberg and Edvin Ryding, who play Simon and Prince Wilhelm respectively in the popular show, appeared in a video posted to the official Netflix Twitter on Wednesday.

“We just wanted to let you know that Young Royals and season three is done,” Rudberg said.

“We’ve had such a great time. I think one of my favorite moments from this season is shooting the final scene,” added Ryding, prompting Rudberg to chime in with his own spoiler-free appreciation for the time they spent “shooting out in the woods all night.”

“Anyway, we just wanted to say thank you so much for all of your supporting us throughout the years and we really look forward to you seeing this season,” Ryding continued. “We think you’re going to love it.”

Young Royals is a Swedish series that premiered on Netflix in 2021. It follows Prince Wilhelm as he attends boarding school and falls in love with another student, Simon, and all of the drama that ensues.

The show was renewed for a third and final season last December—bittersweet news for fans. Three seasons is more than most LGBTQ+ shows on the streaming platform get, and co-creator Lisa Ambjörn made it clear at the time that the hope had always been to end the story after three parts.

“Because of the fans’ dedication to our story, we get to tell the last one,” she said in a press release. “The ending has been clear to me from the start and I’m so thankful and honored to get to finish this saga as intended.”

The first two seasons of Young Royals are currently available on Netflix, but a premiere date for season three has yet to be announced.
