The 15 Must-Read LGBT Books of 2016

2016, in general, was a pretty crappy year. However, it was a pretty big year for bisexuals. A number of high profile celebrities came out, increasing bi visibility and dispelling stereotypes. Large national publications, likeThe Washington Post, wrote multiple pieces that addressed the specific hardships and health disparities bisexuals face. We even had an openly bisexual governor elected to office! These are just a few of the good things and major accomplishments that occurred within the bisexual community this year. Here are 10 of the best moments that happened to bisexuals in 2016.

Donald Trump is President of the United States. Mike Pence is the Vice President of the United States. A cabinet of hateful, violent, bigoted, unqualified white people—who will certainly watch the world burn— has been formed. White supremacists are coming out in droves to attack anyone who doesn’t think like them. The demons and monsters in the United States no longer have to hide.

2017 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for human rights in the United States. We’re at risk of losing our most basic rights and liberties because the people at the top of our democracy are not even remotely qualified to lead an intersectional, diverse country like ours. 2017 is about us coming together to fight these monsters, and not accepting the oppression they’re attempting to force on us. If we don’t stand together, we’ll fall separately.

All of that being said, here are 9 ways to be a better activist through the rest of 2017, because we all need to be better than we’ve ever been to deal with what’s coming.
