Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is set for release July 31st, 2016 and picks up nineteen years after the last installment. The book is actually a script from the London-based Harry Potter play however for those of us that can’t travel across the pond for this wizarding spectacle - we can now read it!!

Daniel Radcliffe is reaffirming his support of the entire LGBTQ+ community — and specifically, trans people — in the wake of J.K. Rowling's public comments insinuating she would never forgive the Harry Potter stars for supporting trans youth.
Radcliffe was interviewed by The Atlantic earlier this year, although the piece was only released this Tuesday. It was inevitable that the once beloved children author's ongoing determination to rail against trans rights and equality on social media would come up, especially as Radcliffe has pointedly declared his support for trans people in the past.

(CNN) — Actor Michael Gambon, best known for playing Albus Dumbledore in most of the “Harry Potter” movies, has died at 82 following a “bout of pneumonia,” a statement issued on behalf of his family said on Thursday, PA Media news agency reported.

When news broke that Heartstopper star Sebastian Croft would be voicing a playable character in the upcoming Harry Potter-adjacent video game, Hogwarts Legacy, a number of fans were disappointed. But now Croft is stepping forward to offer an explanation and an apology.
Fans’ frustrations stemmed from how frequently Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has fixated on spreading her transphobic views and using her platform to target those who criticize her for them in recent years. As such, many former Harry Potter fans have felt uneasy continuing to pour money into the franchise they once loved, considering it a portion will always find its way back into Rowling’s pockets, even if she isn’t directly involved with specific projects, as is the case with Hogwarts Legacy.
